History

The company was founded in 1967 by J. Michael Foxx for the sole purpose of providing income for him while attending graduate school. The company's rapid growth and success caused Mike to stay with it rather than looking for another job after graduation. In 1973, fresh out of high school, Ralph Batsel and Don Flecky were hired to work at Foxx as part-time evening janitors for the princely wage of $2.25 per hour. What initially began as part-time jobs while going to college, turned into full-time positions in the operations side of the business, and ultimately became careers. In 1979, Mike Foxx sold the business to Ralph and Don, who each maintains 50% ownership in the company to the present time.

At the time of purchase the company provided commercial janitorial services, carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, water damage restoration, hard floor care, window cleaning, and sales of janitorial and paper supplies. Over the years the company has added a significant number of services, and is now organized over three divisions: the Cleaning division, the Supply division, and the Contractor division. Both Ralph and Don individually are licensed general contractors in their own right, and each is active full-time in the operation of the business. After 21 years in their facility on Raymond Avenue in Fullerton, the company re-located to its newer, larger location in Anaheim, in September of 1994. Foxx currently services commercial and industrial customers primarily throughout Los Angeles and Orange Counties, but also in parts of Riverside, San Bernardino, and San Diego Counties.

How We Operate
The company is managed by Ralph and Don, who are active full-time in the business and often are directly involved on the job site. Ralph is most often involved in bidding, planning, and inspecting work, as well as dealing with customer requests. Don is more likely to be found in the office overseeing the administrative functions of the business, but is active on jobs also. The person with primary responsibility for our services and employees is our Operations Manager, Randy Santa Maria, who schedules and coordinates all operations. Calls for service typically are directed to him, and scheduled, carried out, and billed under his direction. Beyond Randy, we have a staff of daytime and evening supervisors, many with pagers and cell phones for efficient communication, and under their direction are the employees and tradesmen that carry out the actual work.

Foxx Building Services, Inc. offers on-call emergency services 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. Our on-call services can be obtained by calling our toll-free "800" number and following the recorded instructions, which sends a page to our person on call who will return your call within 10 minutes or less. We also provide the pager numbers and home phone numbers of the key personnel in our organization (including the owners) on special laminated "emergency" cards so our customers can keep a card in their car, desk, wallet, purse, and even next to their bed at home. Please request as many cards as you want and we will be happy to provide them. On those occasions when you receive an emergency call in the middle of the night, services can be obtained from us without ever leaving the comfort of your own bed!
